Here are two pictures of my original 5 sons. In the top photo we have: Basil on the left, Elie in the middle, Furman on the right and Jayden behind Elie.
In the second picture we see all 5 boys, with Kleist creeping in the back left.
Since I've had my two sons I've taken less photos of the cats, so I was inspired to photograph them last Saturday.
I was raised by the motto: "You have to suffer for beauty" and I would wear the most uncomfortable, albeit adorable, shoes. They would pinch, they would rub, they would do all sorts of torturous thing to my poor feet. I have to say, I have found the most comfortable (and adorable) pair of shoes ever. They are called Cole Haan Air Seana. They have Nike air technology in them (whatever that means), and it is like walking on air. I have had them for about a week now and have worn them everyday and I fall in love more and more everyday.
I really wanted them in pewter but I'm happy with the gold. I may even splurge and by another pair, they're that comfortable.
I have added many new "sale" items to my shop: http://basilthecat.etsy.com in an effort to destash my older pieces before the new year in order to make room for new 2010 designs. Here is my sale section: http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=91084§ion_id=6443071 I'm alos attempting (slowly) to create a mailing list and regular newsletters with updates and coupons...it's an exciting new project.
In non-business news, my babies are getting bigger, cuter and more identical by the day:
I'm so excited, I finally have my destash shop: http://basilsbeads.etsy.com up and running again. I'm filling it with all my older supplies and vintage jewelry my tiny closet can no longer contain.
hooray!!!!!!!Last week my father came over for dinner and brought me 3 roses that his friend had given him to give me. They were red, ivory and pinkish. I put them in a vase with the provided flower food and 3 days later they opened-up and the ivory rose turned out to be the most magnificent flower I have ever seen:
I was really enjoying having this mini-bouquet in my guest bedroom, sneaking peeks at it as I walked by, it really made me smile as I haven't had fresh flowers in my house in what seems like years, until, of course, my cat knocked the vase over, breaking a photo frame and spilling water down my medical school diploma...and this, I realized, is why I never have beautiful flowers around.
I recently added a new piece to my shop and I thought it was so fun, I wanted to blog about it. It is a kilt pin:
it came be made with 3 letters, a locket, two lockets, brass charms...anything, really. If you would like a custom kilt pin, please contact me...and don't forget, free WORLDWIDE shipping all weekend.
I have to say, I haven't flipped-out over a new gadget in a long time, but I just purchased the Babyliss Nano hair straightener upon a recommendation from a friend and I'm smitten with it!
It straightened my hair from uber-curly to pokerish straight within 5 minutes and it stayed straight through the night and into the next day. It has a digital control and the temperature ranges from 300 degrees to 450 (I used mine on the lowest setting). I purchased mine from Amazon.com as they seem to have the best price, now $65 with free shipping (I actually purchased mine for $70 less than a week ago)....I bet this deal won't last long!
In business news, my shop: http://basilthecat.etsy.com will be having a "free shipping" sale this weekend.
About a month ago I created a piece of bridal jewelry for Meghan. I had asked Meghan to send me a photo of her wearing the piece, which I often do, as I love seeing my creations in action. I just (okay, a few days ago) received this beautiful picture of the bride looking absolutely stunning: Thanks Meghan!
